XII International Biennial of Books
The Biennial of Books is the most important book exhibit in Brazil, taking place this year from May 11 to 22 at Riocentro, in Rio de Janeiro.
In addition to providing financial support to the event, Embratel will have a 100 m2 booth with a lot of attractions for children and grown ups, including:

Mauricio de Souza Art Gallery
Embratel will set up an Art Gallery at the Biennial, with a selection of the main pictures of the "Turma da Mônica's works of art" exhibit, a partnership of Embratel with designer and cartoonist Maurício de Souza. There will be 15 pictures reproducing famous works like the "Monicalisa", a parody of Leonardo da Vinci's Monalisa with the face of the "bucktoothed little girl", and a sculpture of Cebolinha as "The Thinker" by Rodin.

Multimedia Digital Library
The Multimedia Digital Library is a program of Embratel 21 Institute. This service offers to the public a digitized collection of a great number of libraries and cultural institutions in Brazil, like the Mário de Andrade Library in São Paulo.

Terminals for registration in Click 21, Embratel's free internet provider that offers contents like Klickeducação, Brazil's major learning portal in Portuguese with over 75 thousand pages of educational content, will be available at the booth as well.

Embratel ahead of the 2006 Soccer World Cup
Embratel will take the opportunity to announce the 21 na Copa promotion, whose winners will be taken with 21 friends to watch the qualifying games of the 2006 Soccer World Cup in Germany, with all expenses paid.

Embratel will be available for the customers interested in enrolling their cell phones in code 21 to place DDD and IDD calls, adding a lot of convenience to their trips and advantages regarding the rates of Embratel. By enrolling their phones, the customers will also increase their chances to win the prizes offered by the 21 na Copa promotion.





Embratel 21 Stock Car Team
Model of top quality, modernity and security in communications, Embratel sponsors the Embratel 21 Stock Car Team, made up of the most traditional names of motor car racing in Brazil.

One of the members of the team is the worldwide famous and respected pilot Raul Boesel, born in Paraná. World champion of sports cars with the Jaguar team in 1987, Boesel had outstanding participations in the Formula 1 World Championships of 1982 and 1983, and jumped on the podium of international celebrated races including the Le Mans 24 Hours and the Indianapolis 500 Miles, where he is continuously reminded for having started three times in the first row.

Other famous names in the Brazilian car race arena will be side by side with Boesel, like Fábio Grecco, who gave up his career of pilot to continue the legacy of his father, the famous Luiz Antônio Greco, foundation stone of the memorable Willys team and the man who introduced professionalism into the race tracks in Brazil. Fabinho, as he is called in the auto race scenery, is technical director of the Embratel 21 Team.

The Embratel 21 Team is formed by Boesel, who comes from Stock Car V8, the main South American category, and by two members of Stock Car V8 Light. They are Ariel Baranco, born in Curitiba, and Pedro Palhares, born in Rio, both carrying in their names the significance of a glorious past.


Soccer teams from São Paulo inland area in 2007
Embratel sponsored sever soccer teams from the São Paulo inland area in 2007. The sponsorship included the following teams: América Futebol Clube de Rio Preto, E.C. Noroeste de Bauru, Grêmio Recreativo Barueri and Guaratinguetá Esporte Clube, of the4 A1 division, and Botafogo Futebol Clube de Ribeirão Preto, Comercial de Ribeirão Preto and XV de Jaú, of the A2 division. 

XV de Jaú
Also known as Galo da Comarcal, XV de Jaú is one of the most traditional São Paulo teams, with 82 years of history. Since it was founded, it has won a series of titles: Champion of the First Division UNDER-20/2005 Category, Runner-Up of the Opening Tournament of the São Paulo Championship in 1984, Unbeaten Champion of the Final Phase of the First Division in 1976, when it returned to the former Special Division

América Futebol Clube
Founded in January of 1946, it has won the following competitions, among others: Champion of the 2nd Division in 1957 (Access), Champion of the 1st Division in 1963 (Access), Champion of the SBS Junior Cup in 1987 (Japan), Champion of the José Maria Marin Competition in 1987, Champion of the São Paulo intermediate category in 1992, Champion of the São Paulo A-2 Division in 1999, Champion of the São Paulo Junior Cup (Under 20) in 2006.

Botafogo Futebol Clube de Ribeirão Preto
Founded in 1918, the team is also known as Pantera da Mogiana. They won their first title in 1927 as Inland Champion. In 1956 the team won the Unbeaten Cup during the Ribeirão Preto centennial celebration. Additionally, it was Champion of the Second Division of the São Paulo Championship. In 1977 Botafogo was champion of the first round and won the   Cidade de São Paulo Cup of the São Paulo Championship. Socrates, one of the greatest players who started his career in Botafogo, took part in that achievement. Ribeirão Preto was back in the First Division of the 1999 Brazilian Championship after being runner-up in the C Division in 1996, and in the B Division in 1998.

Comercial de Ribeirão Preto
Founded in 1911, under the name of Commercial Football Club, it was the first team to play in the North of Brazil in 1920, with seven victories and one draw in eight games, which gave rise to the epithet of Lion of the North. Between 1927 and 1927 it played the 1st Division of the São Paulo Championship. In 1978 and 1979 it played the Brazilian Championship and was ranked # 14 among 94 teams. In 1980 it was champion of the 1st round of the Taça de Prata Brazilian Championship, as the second division of the Brazilian championship was known at the time. The next year it was champion of the ?red group?, one of the groups of the São Paulo Championsip. In 2006 it was runner-up of the São Paulo Junior Cup.

E.C Noroeste
Founded in September of 1910 under the name of Sport Club Noroeste, the team known also as Norusca played its 2nd Division championship for the first time in 1948. It won its first title in 1953. 1960 was its best year in the São Paulo championship (Paulistão). In 1966 it fell to the second division and only returned to the first division of the São Paulo Championship in 1970. In 1978 the team played the Brazilian Championship. In 1999 it fell again to the A3 division. In 2004 it accessed the A2 division.  In 2005 it went back to the First Division of the São Paulo Championship, ensuring its participation in the C division Brazilian Championship, and won the São Paulo Soccer Federation title, which qualified it to play the Copa do Brasil

Grêmio Recreativo Barueri
Grêmio Recreativo Barueri (GRB) was founded in March of 1989. In the professional category it won the third place in the B-3 Division of the São Paulo Championship in 2002. In 2003 it was runner-up of the B-2 division of the São Paulo Championship, and champion of the São Paulo A-3 division in 2005.

Guaratinguetá Esporte Clube
Guaratinguetá Esporte Clube, also called Tricolor do Vale, was founded in October of 1998. In 2000 the team won the third place in the Rio de Janeiro - São Paulo League, and accessed the B1 division. In 2002 the team reached the A-3 division of the São Paulo Championship, and in 2004 it accessed the A-2 division. The next year it underwent a redesign process and in 2006 it accessed the A-1 division of the 2006/2007 São Paulo Championship.
