Honorable Mentions


Honorable Mention

Gustavo Werneck and the team of O Estado de Minas newspaper were awarded one of the honorable mentions of the 6th Embratel Press Award for the series of articles “Baroque - the lost link” denouncing the neglect of important works of the artistic heritage and recovering pieces that had been stolen from churches and chapels in Minas Gerais.




The second honorable mention was awarded to Luciene Braga and the team of O Dia magazine for “Age is not a crime”, denouncing the violence against the Social Security retirees and pensioners over 90, who had to face long lines to prove that they were alive in order not to lose their pensions.


Special Honorable Mention


Special tribute to one of the oldest Brazilian reporters - Joel Silveira - who recently became 86 years old, 60 of which as a journalist. He wrote several books, and was the firs Brazilian war correspondent, covering the actions of the Brazilian troops in World War II.
The honor was received by Beth Silveira, daughter of journalist.
