TOP IT shows Embratel as one of top of mind companies in the marketplace

The third issue of TOP IT was designed to highlight the top of mind companies in their own markets. In a first stage, a group of around 500 readers ? IT managers, coordinators, supervisors and heads of departments ? suggested, on a free basis, the vendors for each of the technologies. In the next stage, the poll was extended to the magazine readers.

The 1,612 subscribers of InformationWeek Brasil chose their

favorite vendors in 29 categories, in addition to the IT and CIOs of the IT industry. The results reflect the opinion of professionals dealing with information technology on a daily basis.

No ties were scored in the 29 categories, and the award shows the perception of the IT professionals towards manufacturers, consultancies and telephone carriers. Furthermore, it strengthens the leadership of some players in certain sectors. Since the release of TOP IT, Embratel has won the award of best wireline calling provider every year.

Embratel earns the TI & Governo award

Embratel earned the TI & Governo 2006 Award as supplier of the Rede Nacional de Paleontologia (National Paleontology Network) project for the Minas Gerais State Science and Technology Secretariat (SECTES). The award was designed by Plano Editorial, responsible for publishing the TI & Governo Yearbook, aimed at disseminating and encouraging the best government electronic projects. The 20 awarded projects this year, among the 84 candidates, were chosen by their innovative character, by their impact on public administration, and by their social relevance. The projects were ranked according to three categories: e-Public Services, e-Public Administration, and e-Democracy.

The National Paleontology Network supports the training of personnel, promotes surveys in the industry, promotes the cooperation among surveyors, and pursues financing and project monitoring as well.

The main office of this 1,574 square meter Network will be inaugurated in the beginning of 2007 at Peirópolis, a neighborhood of Uberaba, in a region the experts consider to be a deposit of dinosaur remains in Brazil. Additionally, the institution is equipped with 13 videoconferencing rooms in São Raimundo Nonato (Piauí), Rio do Peixe (Paraíba), Museu da Urca (Ceará) and in the federal universities of Bahia (UFBA), Maranhão (UFMA), Acre (AFAC), Mato Grosso (UFMT), Minas Gerais (UFMG), Pernambuco (UFPE), Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and in the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (PUC-MG).

The award, consisting of a trophy and a certificate, was given in early December during an awarding ceremony together with the launch of the TI & Governo 2006 Yearbook, when other prizewinners were announced as well. Approximately 60 public companies attended the event that awarded the certification to Embratel and the prize to SECTES of Minas Gerais.

Embratel is the 'Most Admired'

The DCI Award confers to the "Most Admired" companies the formal recognition of corporations in a wide array of economical segments in Brazil. Embratel has been elected by the businessmen and readers of the Jornal DCI as the most admired company in the telecommunications industry.

This Award is the outcome of a survey conducted with 3.865 executives of the major corporations in Brazil, using questionnaires

including issues like business investments, foreign trade and publicity. The awarding ceremony took place on November 29 in São Paulo.

Embratel wins Padrão em Excelência 2006 Award

Embratel won the Padrão em Excelência Award in the Telecommunications infrastructure category promoted by B2B magazine. This is a major, sought after award in the Business to Business segment in Brazil, since it is in recognition of the

implementation of the best practices and strategies in the web and information technology area.
The candidate companies had their cases assessed according to their technological and digital strategies, and to the ECi Business Competitive Transformation Methodology, which assesses the results from adopting strategies, technologies and tools.

The awarding ceremony will take place on November 27, in São Paulo.

Embratel, a Brand of Trust

The survey conducted by Seleções Magazine asked around 3 thousand subscribers which brands they trusted most. Embratel was ranked first as the wireline telephone carrier brand they trusted most.

The Brand of Trust survey has been carried out since 2001 on a yearly basis. This year, the subscribers voted from March 22 to

April 22 across the five main regions of Brazil. The consumers took into consideration items like modernity, technology, customer service, social responsibility and cost/benefit ratio. Therefore, 37 brands were awarded in their respective categories.

In the telecommunications sector, the telephone market is highly competitive, with very demanding customers. In addition to offering top quality services, there is a competition for the lowest prices. In this scenario, gaining the consumer?s trust means an outstanding achievement, because being top of mind is not enough; it has to be the reference brand in the marketplace.

Embratel and BrasilCenter receive the 'Prêmio Padrão de Qualidade em Contact Center 2006'

Embratel and BrasilCenter are considered number one in contact center quality standard and operations in 2006.

BrasilCenter won in the ?best technology management? category, and Embratel was rated first of the TOP5 best ranked suppliers of solutions and services to contact centers in the "Telecom, 0800 and Internet" categories.

The awarding ceremony of the "Prêmio Padrão de Qualidade em Contact Center" was held on September 13 at Transamérica Hotel, in São Paulo

Modern Consumer Award 2006

Embratel won the Modern Consumer of Customer Service Excellence Award, in the 0800 and Access Provider categories. The awarding ceremony took place on May 29 at the Lemos Brito Eventos Cenesp, in São Paulo.

Embratel's 0800 is a pioneering service in Brazil as a relationship tool to deal with domestic and international customers. INFO LABEL SURVEY 2006

Consumers and businesses point out the outstanding labels that provide topmost quality and technical support.

Embratel was elected the best Communication, Voice and Data Carrier in Brazil by INFO magazine (Abril Publishers).

To carry out this 5th INFO Label Survey, the magazine heard 1559 subscribers and newsstand readers about the quality of 479 product and service labels used by consumers at home and in small offices.

By means of forms inserted in the March issue of the magazine, and online as well, INFO could perform the appraisal of 468 labels divided into 40 categories. In the second part of the analysis, the magazine included a survey with IT executives from 100 companies, referring to the reputation of 423 names. At the end, the executives pointed out the 34 most reliable labels in 34 categories.


INFO EXAME SURVEY

Embratel was ranked first in the Communication, Voice and Data categories (Local and Long Distance). This recognition was granted through the 4th INFO Brand Survey that heard 122 IT executives from major corporations, in addition to the magazine?s subscribers.

In the communication, voice and data carriers category, we outdid our best competitors, and in the wireline category we have repeated our good performance and won the first place as well. This was indeed an outstanding accomplishment, since we have been offering the local service to the corporate market for less than 3 years.

The largest, most important consumption relations award in Brazil.

The award, organized by Padrão Editorial, was created with the purpose of identifying and disseminating the best practices of customer service in Brazil, and recognizing the companies concerned with service excellence, not only gaining new customers, but also keeping a high satisfaction and loyalty degree.

Last May 30, the awarding ceremony of the Prêmio Consumidor Moderno de Excelência em Serviços ao Cliente 2005 took place at Espaço Villa Noah Embratel. It was a historical event that awarded the best companies in the various market segments, in addition to electing the Best Company in the 10 years of Consumidor Moderno and inaugurating the Hall of Fame, where a professional responsible for the development and consolidation of the relationship in Brazil is chosen among 5 candidates nominated by a group of notables from Consumidor Moderno magazine and ABRAREC. Embratel was awarded in the 0800 service provision category and as the best Corporate Access provider (Internet).
