Trainee Program

Portal Voluntários Embratel
Through a partnership with Comunitas, Embratel is the first company worldwide to launch a different model of corporate voluntary service using V2V technology, a social network gathering volunteers (action agents) according to their affinities. In such network, the volunteer plays the leading role.

By developing the Portal Voluntários Embratel (Embratel Volunteers Portal) on the Internet, the Company makes known the actions developed by its own employees who can choose how and where they can best perform their actions, and exchange experiences as well. As a consequence, it offers an extra incentive for those who wanted to share their knowledge and skills but didn't know how to do it, enhancing not only the commitment of the work force, but of their hearts as well.

Access the Portal Voluntários Embratel (only in portuguese).

Trainee Program
The third "Trainee Program" promoted by Embratel in the city of Rio de Janeiro has started in September/2006.

The program is focused on social responsibility and has a legal nature, gathering together 25 youths from 14 to 18 years, hired by the Companies to follow the “Clerk” 2-year program conducted by SENAI.

The program is devised to prepare them for the labor market. The list of topics includes lessons on Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), financial maths, Portuguese, work planning and organization, service excellence, health and security, environment, cognitive processes, ethics and citizenship, human relations and administrative processes.

In addition to the theoretical education provided at the Learning Institution, the trainees will be given practical lessons at the Company’s premises from December on.

All the youths will have to combine their school activities with such learning activities, and will be paid a minimum wage, transport ticket, meal ticket, plus the labor and social security rights.

The program is being implemented in the other states of Brazil where Embratel is present as well, in accordance with the legal share of each educational institution.

The program is designed to prepare the youths for the labor market, providing them with the knowledge necessary for a professional career and a promising future.
