This was the year when Embrapar went private by the Telmex group, in a clear demonstration of trust in Brazil. Telmex now had 98% of the common stock and 94.7% of the preferred capital stock of Embrapar, totaling 94.6% of its capital stock. |

Cutting-edge technology and national integration.
Embratel was the first company in the industry to set universalization goals certified by Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (Anatel) in January of 2007. In that same year, with a pioneering project Embratel implemented the fiber optics system in the Amazon region and launched the third generation of communications satellites. |
